Job Description


The Scientist will support the development and commercialization of new products for the fruit and vegetable platform according to defined business growth objectives. Development of complex beverage systems that meet business strategy initiatives Follow all safety procedures and requirements and ensure products are safe, stable, and legal. Design and execute experiments and analyze data to generate technical recommendations in support of business needs Conduct and document product development lab work, including the creation of benchtop prototypes, implementation and maintenance of stability testing and shelf-life, and support of sales samples and scale-ups for commercialization Utilization of interpersonal skills to collaborate and work effectively within a cross-functional team environment to achieve clearly defined objectives and deliverables Create beverage documents and product specifications, as required Demonstrate ability to learn and leverage key internal processes and business applications Assumes other responsibilities and performs special functions as may be assigned by the immediate supervisorCity of Industry: California #LI-USA Qualifications/Requirements Experience: B.S. or M.S. with 2-3 years of experience is required Experience in the consumer foods or beverage industry is preferred. A food science degree is preferred Knowledge & Skill Set Requirements: Demonstrates basic knowledge of beverage formulation within the fruit and vegetable category Understanding of Product Development techniques including formulation, stability testing, product/package interaction, sensory and consumer testing Basic technical understanding of ingredient functionality and process technology for application in new product development Sound understanding of Experimental Design Basic knowledge of calculations, ingredient functionality, and unit operations as it relates to formulation design and process development Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills Demonstrates strong personal initiative and ability to work both individually and in a team environment Able to analyze complex data to make clear technical recommendations Able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines Experience in juice or beverage product development a plus Able to handle a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment Familiarity with functional nutrition food and beverage trends a plus #LI-USA Relocation Eligible: Eligible for Limited Relocation Job Type: Regular All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
