To support that challenge, the Corn Seeds Production and Operations Team is currently seeking a Production Technician in Slater, IA.

You will help shape the future of agriculture by:

  • Leading field operations, seed receiving, and conditioning equipment operations to ensure that all seed is properly handled and conditioned so the highest quality seed will be packaged to meet product demand.
  • Fostering an operational culture founded of HSE and operation excellence

Accountabilities

  • Complete field operations as directed by Field Production Lead including; planting, flagging, field scouting, equipment setup/validation, WPS recording, staff training, quality audits, and process improvement projects.
  • Complete harvest operations as directed by plant management including; Receiving, Husk and Sort, dryer and/or shelling operations.
  • Ensure all daily/weekly equipment inspection checks and clean-downs are completed
  • Create a “safety first” working environment to safeguard employees, Syngenta assets and the environment.
  • Maintain, document, and adherence to established plant procedures
  • Perform product quality assessments and adherence to product specifications
  • All seed picked and transported to specified area is identified accurately and checked against production order
  • Timely and accurate data entry into SAP as part of Inventory Management
  • Perform other duties as required to meet plant or site needs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability and willingness to work OT as needed with 7-day work weeks during critical times of the year
  • Able and willing to working outside in various weather conditions
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing
  • Forklift certified, or the ability and willingness to obtain certification. (On-Site Training provided)
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License or ability and willingness to obtain
  • Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field highly preferred
  • Experience working in Agriculture/Seed Industry
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a CDL certified
