We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory Compliance Specialist in Dallas, Texas.

This position is responsible for providing support to our restaurants, both directly and through assisting in the development and maintenance of materials, systems, and programs to promote food safety and quality in restaurants, and ensure regulatory compliance.

General Responsibilities

  • Remain knowledgeable of, and communicate regarding, jurisdiction specific requirements for all parts of Texas and Colorado.
  • Assist stores in resolving regulatory challenges
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key regulators
  • Report on key metrics
  • Foster mutually beneficial business relationships through needs identification and the delivery of business requirements
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and resolve any critical issues impacting the business
  • Analyze relevant data to identify potential food safety concerns and follow up appropriately
  • Completion of assigned projects to meet department goals and objectives
  • Provide input for improvement to the Restaurant Food Safety plan
  • Execute Restaurant Food Safety plan
  • Audit stores for compliance with Restaurant Food Safety plan and train in areas of deficiency
  • Train Shift Managers and Divisional Managers in the area of Food Safety, and provide hands on training as needed

Work Schedule + Benefits

  • Full-time position, Salary (exempt)
  • Rotating schedule, primarily Monday through Friday with at least one weekend per 4 week period required
  • Occasional after hours, holidays, and additional weekend hours may be required
  • Overnight travel is required, approximately 50% of the time. Primary areas of travel are throughout Texas and Colorado, and Southern California to a lesser extent.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in biology, chemistry, public health, or another closely related science
  • Minimum five years’ experience in food service industry with responsibility in food safety, training, and development of written materials. Internal candidates, Level 5 and above, with a minimum of 3 years of store experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of retail food safety principles and regulations
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute training
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team
  • Ability to work independently and with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to write business reports and present to groups
  • CP-FS or RS/REHS professional credential eligible.
