from the full job description Health insurance Food Safety Specialist Background & Purpose of the Job Reporting to the site Quality Manager, the Food Safety specialist leads
the implementation of factory specifications, standards and Quality
Management System (QMS) for food safety, quality assurance and controls in
alignment with applicable regulatory requirements. This key Quality role
ensures consistent implementation of systems to maintain compliance with
local regulatory requirements and drives program improvement activities to
ensure consumer safety & overall product quality and address consumer /
customer issues. This person will lead the Food Safety & Food Defense teams;
implement updates to the Food Safety / Food Defense & HACCP plans;
support internal and external auditing; and carry out other related
compliance activities. This role will report on program performance to the
Quality manager, site leadership team and to external stakeholders You’re a change maker: You
will leverage new digital tools to drive sustainable changes in the areas of
responsibility. You have strong strategic influencing and organizational
awareness to drive common practices across sites and categories. You are inquisitive, resourceful and eager to Learn: You do not accept the norm, you are looking
for opportunities to improve current designs/practices needed beyond lead
time and cost. You will own the scientific process in the plant. As the
primary expert you will be the primary resource for hunting improvements,
training, and knowledge. You’re a born leader: You
are in charge of Lab training and are responsible for taking out lab to the
next level of expertise. You are the leader of change bringing others on the
journey with you. You take pride in the facility, equipment and the driving
the program in North America. You’re a dot connector: You
are a part of many different groups and touch the work plans of many teams.
You will connect the dots between Quality groups in the Factories and the
Divisions, build relationships and work with all factory-based departments.
Taking and sharing best practice and thinking, bringing it into your work. You’re a culture and change champion: You will drive a new way of working to the Quality and Food
Safety culture and level of expectations on site. You will own the food
safety culture in the factory. By designing process and educating teams you
will change the culture of the way we do things, also engaging others in the
