Job Description
Core Food Quality/Safety Supply Chain Leader
Frito-Lay's plant in Perry, GA is the largest Frito-Lay plant under one roof
in the United States producing over 500,000 pounds of snack foods daily and
serving 8 states. Over 1,500 owners are dedicated to making the highest
quality product available. Frito-Lay Perry produces a wide range of snacks
including Lays, Doritos, Cheetos, Rold Gold, Baked
Lays and Baked Tostitos.
This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Core Sanitation
work groups. Acts as site point person for Food Safety and FDA compliance.
Ensures coordination of site groups to meet safety, quality, service, and
cost commitments. Responsible for people and team development to ensure
continuous improvement is achieved in the areas of quality, cost, safety, and
service to customers (internal and external).
Team Leaders are trained in Frito-Lay's manufacturing, distribution, and
sales operations processes while assisting team members in solving problems
and improving performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish
programs and policies to maintain plant in a food safe atmosphere at all
times
- Development of
master sanitation schedule
- Managing and
scheduling work assignments for direct reports
- Inspecting
facility on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Providing
training to Team Members on all aspects of their jobs, safety, service,
quality, etc.
- Maintain all
pertinent records, reports and other paperwork as needed
- Partner with
production and maintenance resources to meet plant objectives
- Work with
contractors and vendors to implement new food safety technology in
addition to maintaining current programs
- Working with
the team on the production floor during day to day sanitation procedures
to remove obstacles
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proficient in
sanitation procedures and GMP/AIB requirements in a manufacturing
setting
- Understanding
of quality, OSHA and food safety requirements in a manufacturing setting
- Effective
coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
- Prior
experience utilizing a team based approach to
decision making
- Knowledgeable
in processing and packaging technologies and be familiar with receiving,
material handling, maintenance, production planning and information
systems.
- Must possess
strong administrative, technical and human relations skills to effectively
manage the function.
- Bachelor's
Degree (prefer Food Science, Chemistry) or equivalent experience
- Flexible -
willingness to work off shifts and weekends
- 3 years Food
Safety experience in a food manufacturing environment
