I - Job Purpose and Summary:
The Corporate Quality & Food Safety Specialist (CQFS) role leads and
oversees key processes and tasks within the CQFS team. The Specialist role
includes development of key product manufacturing documents such as Technical
Data Sheets & Nutritional Labels as well as securing Third-Party
Certifications from suppliers. The role further supports important supply
chain process accountability including the approval and procurement of raw
materials for production. As part of the role he or she is also responsible
for Customer Documentation Requests and Vendor Complaint Management,
Technical Reviews and Raw Material Specification Development.
II - Key Accountabilities:
Promote a safe work environment through the adherence to all PGP’s
Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures as well as to
all relevant California OSHA regulations in order to achieve ZERO workplace
incidents and injuries.
- Standard
Manufacturing Book & Technical Data Sheet Document Management:
Development & Maintenance of product Nutritional Information
Sheets, Labels, Certificate of Analysis, Technical Data Sheets, as well as,
Raw Material Inspection Sheets.
The development and maintenance of Nutritional Information sheets will
require on-boarding of Genesis software to create correct product
information. As part of this work, lead technical Nutritional customer
requests and inquiries.
- Third Party
Audits & Certification Maintenance:
Lead the preparing for third party and customer audits focusing on
required certifications. Key role includes maintaining PGP site and supplier
certification including Organic, Gluten Free, non-GMO, Kosher, Halal.
- Customer
Requests and Vendor Complaint Management:
Ensure customer needs for CQFS process & documentation are
fulfilled using Trace Gains software in accordance to their prioritization.
Maintain vendor complaint document database and follow up on vendor
corrective actions on a timely basis.
Maintain the customer complaints database and publish an internal weekly and
monthly customer complaint report to the sites QAs.
- Technical
Reviews to Ensure Labeling Standards:
Including raw material and finished product Specifications,
Nutritional Information Sheets, Ingredient & Allergen Statements, and
Other CQFS documents to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
and PGP labeling standards
- Raw Material
Specification Development:
Assist in developing raw material specifications using information
provided by suppliers, procurement department, industry standards &
company historical data. Ensure documentation is provided by suppliers using
the Trace Gains Network and is accurate and complete.
- Training &
Development: Participate
in all trainings related to his/her job in order to gain
knowledge/skills/abilities needed for exceptional performance including
Trace gains, Genesis and advanced Excel.

Education
- Bachelor’s
degree in food science, chemistry or biological science.
Related Experience
- 1-2 years of
experience in manufacturing environment. Knowledge in the areas of GMPs,
FDA regulations, Food Safety Modernization Act etc.
- Project
management experience desirable
Competencies
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to read,
understand, interpret, and follow-through accurately and thoroughly. Strong
communication skills: read; write articulate, etc. complex concepts to ensure
appropriate interpretation. Strong technical capabilities and problem
resolving skills.

Work Environment
The role is largely office based, with frequent interactions with colleagues
