Job Description
This position leads and guides the quality and food safety
performance agenda for contract manufacturing locations within PepsiCo North
America Foods (Frito-Lay and Quaker). The selected candidate will lead the
successful execution of quality and food safety systems, ensure product and
packaging design conformance, ensure compliance to legal and regulatory
requirements, and improve quality and food safety performance at contract
manufacturing locations. The focus of this work will be on innovation projects
and will include oversight at existing contract manufacturing locations.
These items will be accomplished through effective leadership and
collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders including Frito-Lay and
Quaker R&D product development teams, Quality Assurance teams, Industry
Managers, Leadership Team members, and Contract Manufacturing Teams.
This position reports to the Supply Chain Quality Control Contract
Manufacturing Director.
Business Accountabilities
- Leadership and
quality/food safety guidance for numerous contract manufacturing
locations
- Seamless
product, process, and package food safety system execution
- Support FSMA
food safety plans, allergen safety, and odor/aroma mitigation
requirements including storage, handling, sanitation, and training
- Identification
and development of corrective and preventative action plans for product
quality, food safety, or consumer satisfaction issues
- Ensure
regulatory and microbiological requirements are identified and completed
- Utilize
statistical methods to identify and track process capability and guide
contract manufacturing correction of performance gaps
- Assure
contract manufacturing compliance to Food Security requirements
- Conduct
assessments of assigned contract manufacturers and potential new
contract manufacturers to assure compliance to established procedures,
programs, and requirements
- Learn sensory
aspects of all contract manufacturing products and monitor sensory
compliance at assigned contract manufacturing locations
- Generate and
champion new quality and food safety ideas and projects.

Qualifications/Requirements
- B.S. degree
with a minimum of 8 years demonstrated success in quality or plant
operations
- Knowledge and
experience with quality systems management
- Knowledge of
FDA, FSMA, USDA, GFSI, HACCP, and GMPs
- Demonstrated
ability to identify critical data and develop corrective actions
- Demonstrated
self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to
work effectively and manage risk in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated
ability to build strong business relationships with internal and external
customers
- Excellent
leadership and influence skills
- Demonstrated
skills in managing conflict and using data to drive decisions
