Duties: As a key member of the Platform and FSQ Senior Leadership Teams, the FSQ Director leads the Meals FSQ global platform including leading a team of Product Managers in the North American Retail (NAR), Europe & Australia (EUAU) and Asia & Latin America (ASLA) business segments (7 direct reports; total global team of 12), and key FSQ initiatives across global segments.

Utilizing strong business influence on both global brands (Old El Paso) and local brands (Wanchai Ferry, Yoki and Kitano, and Latina), the FSQ Director:

  • Develops platform specific goals and priorities and assures that priorities of individual team members are aligned to deliver platform goals.
  • Manages and oversees Food Safety & Quality as designed and commercialization support via team of product managers in various regions.
  • Plays a lead role in issue escalation, risk quantification, and risk management. Functions as a liaison between plant and region FSQ teams and the central FSQ teams. Provides active engagement and leadership in situations involving food safety or regulatory related market actions.
  • Serves as a global steward of product quality for global brands such as Old El Paso. Assures consistent quality standards are upheld across regions.
  • Partners with regional FSQ leadership to identify key food safety and quality improvement opportunities and aligns on strategies to drive change.
  • Partners with regional FSQ leadership to assure consistent staffing and talent development expectations are set and upheld.
  • Manages team of 7 including their development and performance.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelorís degree in Food Science, Engineering or a closely related field followed by seven years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience working with Sensory, food science, quality, sanitation and food safety in multinational CPG food company. Experience must also include five years of hands-on experience in each of the following: 1) Working across multiple areas of food safety and quality including in a manufacturing environment, across multiple product platforms and types, and in support of Company Acquisition and Integration activities; 2) Leading and influencing Food Safety and Quality projects in a highly complex, matrixed global business environment; 3) Managing people including performance management, individual and team development and staffing; and 4) Implementing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems, utilizing continuous improvement tools to diagnose performance problems, and streamline existing processes, and conducting Risk Assessments related to food safety and quality.
