Job Description
IFF Health and Biosciences is a leader in the industrial
biotechnology sector which develops innovative enzymes and bioproducts to

The Health and Biosciences team in Rochester NY is looking
for a QC BioAnalytical Specialist who
has experience in protein biochemical characterization, analytical method
validation, and quality control systems. In this position you will have the
opportunity to work closely with global R&D Project Teams and
manufacturing plants during the transfer of new enzymes.

The principle responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited
to):
- Enzyme method
development, validation, optimization, and transfer to other labs
- Write
technical reports and standard operating procedures
- Use project
management skills to identify, prioritize, coordinate, and complete
specific project objectives and meet deadlines
- Present and
discuss scientific data to a cross-functional global team
- Perform
routine quality checks for product consistency and safety purposes
- Work closely
with regulatory teams to collect data for registrations and/or
toxicology testing
- Support
manufacturing sites with troubleshooting methods and promoting best
practices
- Collaborate
with management and other team members to align resources needed to
complete project objectives
- Serve as a
resident expert in one or more technologies and/or functions
- Work independently
and in a team environment. Initiate and lead team discussions. Be able
to train and mentor others
- Make sound
systematic decisions, problem solving, and troubleshooting
- Adapt to
quickly changing conditions and priorities
- Periodic
travel will be required
Job Requirements
Your preferred skill sets:
- Enzyme assays
- Gel
electrophoresis
- Protein
purification and/or quantification
- HPLC is a plus
- Pipetting
techniques, buffer preparation, general lab equipment use and
maintenance
- Experience
with quality systems and standards
- Data analysis
and statistics, experience in Minitab a plus
- Proficient
computer and database management skills (LIMS, SAP, Sharepoint,
Office 365, Microsoft Teams)
- Good
organizational, planning and project management skills. Detail-oriented
- Excellent
communication skills with peers, leadership, and global cross-functional
teams
Your qualification profile:
- Requires a
Bachelors and/or Masters degree in
Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent with a
minimum of 2 years overall experience in an laboratory setting
