Senior Food Safety Specialist

Position
Summary
- Provide food safety and regulatory technical guidance to Global
Nestlé Nutrition Meals & Drinks and Healthy Snacks
Innovation/Renovation projects, research and development, and
manufacturing. Ensure compliance by design through quality and food
safety support of NDC Fremont led Innovation/Renovation projects.
- Develop and conduct ingredient, packaging and product safety
assessments and strategies to manage safety and compliance risks.
Assess, develop, and execute action plans to address complex technical
and regulatory challenges associated with food ingredients, finished
products, packaging and processes.
- Project team member engaged in Innovation / Renovation projects
assuring Quality function deliverables throughout project stages
including: food safety risk assessments, preliminary HACCP, preliminary
QMS, input to the Manufacturing Dossier, and Technical Acceptance.
- Supports Technical Assistance requests from external Nestle
functions.
- Develops and supports model HACCP, model Quality Monitoring
Schemes, SOPs and other Quality System requirements
- Create and maintain internal networks with relevant PTC/R&D
units and NRC. Maintain industry expertise through external networking
and affiliations.
- Responsible to follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality,
Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures as
pertains to role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required and PhD preferred in a scientific/regulatory
area (chemistry, toxicology, food science, etc.)
- 8+ years applicable industry experience in Operations and/or RD
- Demonstrated communication skills with varied audiences
- working experience with risk assessment and HACCP desirable.

understand and evaluate a variety of technical and regulatory situations
- Communicate, interpret and apply information from technical
experts in areas of chemistry, microbiology, and toxicology
