Novecare develops and produces formulations that

Job Overview and Responsibilities
Primary Purpose: The Quality Assurance Chemist has the
responsibility of performing analysis on raw materials, producsts
at any of the various stages of production, and finished goods, including
toll produced materials. Has the authority, within guidelines, to approve and
release, or quarantine raw materials and/or finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- QA Inspection, reporting,
approval/release, record keeping for raw materials, in process and
finished good testing.
- Detailed administrative record keeping
and filing of all QA activities as required, including generation of
COA's and data entry into the Laboratory Information Management System
(LIMS).
- Determine and calculate batch adjustments
as necessary, mathematical and bench blends.
- Prepare and standardize reagents,
maintain stock of supplies and chemicals, write up requisitions.
- Maintain lab instruments, equipment and
apparatus in good condition. Calibrate as directed and keep records.
- SAP entry of analytical values; SAP
transaction as required by QA; nonconformance tracking in SAP and
Access.
- Participate in customer complaint and
process incident investigations.
- Participate in Plant Safety Program
effort, specifically completing safety training modules, and completing
observations and incident reports. Responsible for Assembly Area 1
duties (roll call) during evacuations and drills.
- Participate in ISO 9001 Quality System
improvement process.
- Contact and communicate with raw material
suppliers, customers, Solvay customer satisfaction representatives, as
necessary.
- Identify your internal and external
customer and develop skills for working effectively.
- Train new chemists and technicians as
necessary.
- Good housekeeping discipline.
- Collect, segrate
and empty hazardous lab waste.
- Display commitment to continuous
improvement in quality including ISO 9001 and EFFCI.

- Your Personal Protective Equipment is the
most important tool you have a a professional
chemical industry worker. Maintain and clean it properly.

involved as oftens as you can.
Physical Demand Requirements:
The QA Chemist must be physically able to perform work
such as operating lab testing equipment, moving waste drums, and other tasks
typical of a QA Chemist. He/she must have the mental dexterity necessary to
accomplish a multitude of tasks safety and effectively. the QA Chemist must
be able to recognize unusual conditions, reason out the cause, and use good
judgment in being able to deal with them safely.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years post
secondary education (BS degree in Science a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years
experience in an industrial type environment, quality assurance
experience preferred.
- Strong GC/HPLC experience.
Skills
- Strong familiarity with PC's and Windows
software.
- Capable of making decisions and working
unsupervised (safely and effectively).
- Familiarity with Statistical Quality
Control (SQC).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles.
- Competent on or able to learn SAP system
for QA transactions.
