Job Purpose:
The QFS Technologist is responsible for leading the implementation,
maintenance and continuous improvement of the site Quality Management System
(QMS) and help ensure the site initiatives are fully compliant to all global
Quality and Food Safety standards. The QFS Technologist along with Quality
& Product Development (QPD) Manager will serve as key contacts for QFS
standards and processes, providing direction and support across functions and
operations.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant technical or
scientific discipline (Food Science/Technology, Biological, Chemical
Engineering, Animal Sciences)
- 2+ years of manufacturing and/or lab
quality experience within the CPG industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lead Auditor
certification and experience in developing and managing auditing
programs would be a benefit
- Experience in
leading and managing projects in a feed/food manufacturing consumer
goods environment
- Knowledge of
feed industry and raw material processing
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Manage
activities in the quality laboratory. This includes lab equipment
calibration and verification, testing raw material mycotoxins and
training New Receiving or Utility Associates on mycotoxin testing.
- Manage and
review organized production records and system for completion and
accuracy.
- Maintain and
review organized records needed to support product nutritional and
quality specification compliance (i.e. Lab Analysis Results of
ingredients, finished goods and WIP items, Pellet Mill Data, PAT Data,
CoA/CoC information, etc.)
- Development
and implementation of quality management tools across functions and
operations, including development of appropriate training materials
- Act as an
internal auditor and facilitate external auditor visits
- Support and
facilitate risk assessment and risk management activities across
operations and functions
- Act as a
member of Product Related Incident Management Process (PRIMP) teams
- Reporting and
analysis of key quality metrics
- Support and
manage projects and activities across functional boundaries as required
by Quality & Product Development (QPD) Manager
- Lead and
manage site’s Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) program
- Manage site
PRP verification program
- Manage all
aspects of Document Control Policy and related files
- Manage all
aspects of Record Control Policy and related files
- Aid and assist
the facility when the QPD Manager and Commercial Manager are not
available.
- Assist as
needed with the development and writing of standard operating
procedures, work instructions, trainings and other policies as needed
- Active member
of the Food Safety Team (HACCP)
- Manage
regulatory visits (FDA, ODA, etc.) and report findings accordingly
- Drive
continuous improvement of the Quality and Food Safety systems
- Perform and
complete all special projects as needed in a timely manner
