About this Job:
This position will have a primary focus on
conditioning and processing to meet company packaging targets. They will
provide oversight for all functions from harvest to treat and pack. This
individual will foster an operational culture founded on HSE, quality and
process improvement, while actively participating in the ‘Goal Zero’ safety
initiative.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and
direct scheduling of conditioning, reworking, packaging and treating
processes with the Supply Planning Team
- Direct
supervision of plant personnel including 3rd party labor force – expect
40% of time on the floor
- Coordinate
plant preventative maintenance schedule with Operations Manager and
Maintenance Lead
- Participate in
operational and capital budget meetings/forecasts
- Hire, train,
and develop full time and 3rd party employees
- Assist with
management of key operations including processes from bulk storage to
finished goods inventory
- Assist in the
development, implementation, and monitoring of quality systems,
processes, and programs for the site operations
- Assist with
labor planning and schedules in order to meet staffing requirements for
peak season activities
- Effectively
communicate equipment issues to minimize unplanned downtime
- Responsible
for inventory accuracy and appearance of product coming off the line
- Assist in the
development, implementation, and monitoring of Quality Business Systems
and processes, systems and programs for site operations
- Understanding
of seed labelling laws and seed certification laws

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree required; Agronomy, Ag Engineering or Ag Economics or Technology
applicable fields of study
- Minimum of
three years’ experience in the seed industry; with a focus in Production
and Supply
- Previous
experience in Agricultural products manufacturing preferred

work in the plant and be on feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to
operate standard office equipment including phone, copier and computer.
- Wear
appropriate PPE as required for operations in plant or the field.
- Position
requires the ability to operate and be forklift certified.
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
- 60% of work
performed in standard office.
- 40% of work
performed in plant, or meetings.
