Job Purpose:
Leads external supply chain quality
initiatives. Ensures that externally manufactured products and services,
comply with the Mars Standards and FDA Regulations. A key aspect of this job
is to ensure that the Suppliers and External Manufacturers in your portfolio
are compliant to the MARS External Manufacturing Quality Management (EMQM)
Standard, Material Quality Management (MQM), Packaging Quality Management
(PQM), and Distribution Quality Management (DQM) standards for the services
and products provided.
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology,
engineering or related subject
- 3+ years’ experience in a Quality,
Dietary Supplement, Pharmaceutical and/or Food Safety Industry
- Previous experience working with external
suppliers
- Experience in auditing
- Strong communicator and relationship
builder with good business acumen and supplier management skills
- Proven and effective project management
& organizing experience
- Travel: up to 25% for audits and on site monthly meetings in Gaithersburg, MD (2-3
days)
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Quality,
Dietary Supplement, or Food Safety Industry
- Lead Auditor qualified (GFSI or ISO)
- Dietary Supplement experience
What will be your key
responsibilities?
- Partnering with commercial, supply, SRA,
R&D, and other teams to drive the performance and continuous
improvement of our External manufacturers and Suppliers with focus on
their adherence to FDA requirements defined in 21 CFR 111, 117, &
MARS Q&FS requirements and best practices to ensure that we protect
our brands and corporate reputation.
- Assures quality and consistency of raw
material, finished products, packaging material, and distribution within
Mars Symbioscience supply chain
- Supplier management including operations,
risk categorization, development, validation and verification of supply,
and approval of vendors as extensions of Mars Symbioscience.
- Leads related internal processes
including risk assessments, supplier specifications, holds, root cause,
and quality management data inputs.
