SUMMARY
Indirectly
supervises Sanitation Department employees, production cleanup crews and
custodial employees to insure facilities are maintained. Directly supervises
and gives direction to sanitation leads on each shift in conjunction with the
shift management requirements.
As a
member of the leadership team, your participation in the continuous
improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in
process improvement initiatives, employee training, and upgrading your
current skill base.
A. Maintain
a system of records, which pertains to chemical usage, pest control
activities and Material Safety Data Sheets. B. Maintain
and monitor pest activity to effectively coordinate efforts of the licensed
pest control operator in pest control and pesticide application. Presents
pest control program to any internal or external auditor C. Maintain
and monitor custodial employees for quality of work. D Travel
to sanitation seminars or workshops as required E. Maintain
an accurate chemical inventory system and order chemicals to maintain
inventory.
Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with McCain Foods, Inc.
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring,
and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and
resolving problems. Managers
and supervisors are responsible for cultivating employee attitudes favorable

authority to start or stop lines under the direction of and accountable to
the Shift Managers. Appropriates
authorized budgeted amounts for processing activities with the approval of
the Shift Managers. Authority
to hire and discipline employees in consultation with the Shift Managers and
Human Resources. Authority
to utilize all resources including maintenance personnel to ensure proper
repair and operation of processing equipment. Authority
to enforce McCain policies and procedures. Authority
to approve or refuse to process product based on safety, sanitation,
equipment failure, and damaged equipment in consultation with the Shift
Manager and the QC Department. Responsibility
to monitor work areas, watch for suspicious behavior and report any concerns
regarding unidentified visitors and/or unauthorized personnel. Authority
to question and take appropriate measures regarding the safety of themselves,
other employees, products, and equipment. Responsibility
of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the food processing
facility, especially where any raw or finished product is produced. Authority
to report and/or eliminate hazards to the safety of the food that is produced

A. Knowledge
and experience in all facets of cleaning and sanitation of a food processing
facility. B. Must
have a working knowledge of the Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) for a
food processing facility. C. Must
have basic knowledge of pest control and pesticide application. D. Must
have basic knowledge of microbiology. E. Must
seek to further gain knowledge of the most current sanitation techniques and
trends in the sanitation field. F QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To

and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's
degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years’
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience. LANGUAGE
SKILLS Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write
reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS Ability
to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply
concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING
ABILITY Ability
to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a
variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
