JOB
This position reports to the Correctional Food Service Manager and is
responsible for the supervision of Correctional Food Service Officers and
providing oversight of offenders performing large-scale food production at a
minimum custody prison facility. Other job duties for this position include
the following: Supervising the preparation and service of regular and
therapeutic diets for the offender population. Planning, directing, and
supervising the daily preparation and serving of food to offenders.Utilizing
a computerized food and nutrition system to prepare and serve daily
meals.Carrying out daily food preparation and serving, storage, menu planning,
menu planning using substitutions, maintaining sanitation requirements, and
related record keeping.This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with
State Benefits. The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and
will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.Note to Current
State Employees: The salary grade for this position is GN08 (Salary Range:
$33,960 - $57,493). State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of

current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be
recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and
experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these

that matters!About Dan River Prison Work Farm: Dan River Prison Work Farm is
located in Blanch, NC. The facility sits on a 187.5-acre site in the
west-central area of Caswell County and houses felon and misdemeanant minimum
custody adult male offenders. Work assignments include food service,
maintenance, janitorial and other institutional jobs. Other assignments
include maintenance work at Caswell Correctional Center and the offender
construction program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of
experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management
of a commercial food service operations, or as a Correctional Officer, or one
year as a Correctional Food Service Officer; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification: Must be eligible
for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education &
Training Standards Commission.
