JOB
Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for
assisting the Correctional Food Service Supervisor with the quality of work
performed by the offenders in an assigned food preparation and food service
and maintaining sanitary conditions. Responsibilities include but are not
limited to: Provide first-line supervision of male offenders assigned to work
in a large-scale food production and food service correctional facility operationDual role of custody and food production trainingSupervise offender workers engaged in a variety
of activities in food production including cooking, baking, and serving food
to the offender populationTrain offenders in the
arts of institutional cooking, baking and servingMaintain
standards of sanitation in all areas of the kitchen Ensure proper food storageThis is a full-time position (40 hours per week)
with State Benefits. The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift
and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.Note to Current State Employees: The
salary grade for this position is GN07 (Salary Range: $32,703 - $51,904).

for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into
consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding
availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase

Anson Correctional Institution : Anson Correctional Institution is a
multi-custody prison housing Female offender in close, medium and male
minimum custody. The largest inmate population consist of medium custody
offenders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of
experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management
of a commercial food service operations, as a Correctional Officer; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special
Qualifications: Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina
Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
