Job Summary
Coordinate and support operations with food safety, sanitation,
and pest control programs to assure that regulatory compliance and internal
standards are met. Uses knowledge base to creatively problem solve and drive
continuous food safety improvement. Work closely with approved supply
partners to develop, revise, and improve processes appropriate for food
safety program standards related to restaurant operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Monitors and provides technical expertise
for the company’s third-party food safety audit and health department
inspection information management system programs. Ensure auditor
calibration, dispute resolution and communication of results to
appropriate stakeholders
- Provide support with pre-requisite
programs such as pest control and sanitation
- Assist culinary with recipe HACCP writing
and approve final specifications
- Assist food safety team during crisis or
escalated emergency related events as needed, including administrative
support during any incidents or investigation as part of crisis
management team duties in a timely manner
- Provide support on alleged customer
related food complaints
- Ensure all training tools or materials
are current, effective, in place and meet company and regulatory
standards
- This position is responsible to leverage
technology to collect key performance indicator data and generate
reports or analysis that identifies trends, risk, and opportunities to
drive continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain an effective working
relationship with appropriate regulatory agencies, industry associations
and academia to stay in the forefront of emerging trends impacting the
company that will assist in operational compliance
- Help maintain document control for all
food safety related programs
- Perform consult food safety support
services at the restaurant level to help operational management comply
with regulatory and corporate requirements
- Responsible for maintaining a positive
food safety culture, helping operations achieve active managerial
control by demonstrating knowledge, with a focus on brand protection
through education and collaboration
- Maintains an effective collaborative
working relationship with all First Watch functional area staff to
assure food safety compliance, reduce potential company liability and
risk
- Provide ongoing support of the employee
health wellness program and third-party management system of exclusions
for ill employees and return to work restrictions, including
communication and support with all key stakeholders in the process
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Food
Science, Environmental, Public Health or a combination of related
experience and education
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in
food safety or public health within the retail/restaurant/hospitality
field
- Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP)
or Registered Sanitarian (RS) credential preferred
- ANSI-Accredited (i.e. ServSafe
or equivalent) certified food protection manager
- Experience in food safety audits in
restaurants or retail foodservice establishments
- Ability to support restaurant food
safety, sanitation, and pest management programs
- Solid understanding and knowledge of FDA
Model Food Code, HACCP, foodborne risk factors and good retail
practices, and State or local health department regulatory requirements
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
