JOB
The standardized annual salary for this position is $42,264 dependent upon
fund availability and OSHR approval. This position is located at Western
Correctional Center for Women in Black Mountain, NC, which houses
approximately 368 minimum custody female offenders.Oversee
Offender worker for food prep, serving and clean-up of the food service departmentCommunicate verbally and in writingComprehend/abide
by verbal and written instructionsInput/comprehend
computer dataSecure and maintain food service equipmentRead/comprehend/calculate menusObserve
sanitary food handling practicesUnderstand food
nutritional valuesInventory of food, utensils, food

is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. 4:00 am
until 12:00 noon/9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday thru Sunday with rotating days off.Note to Current State
Employees: The salary grade for this position is GN07. State employees are

position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the
quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and

production and food service activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of
experience in institutional food preparation and food services, in management
of a commercial food service operations, as a Correctional Officer; or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.Necessary
Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North
Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
