Reporting to the Director HR, as the Environmental Health Safety and Security
(EHS&S) Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of
environmental health, safety, process safety management, emergency response,
security and loss prevention activities for the both Bakeries in CA and NC.
This position will evaluate Health, Safety and Security performance to drive
continuous improvement and is responsible for acting as the bakery liaison
with regulatory agencies and Bakery senior leadership for a bakery with more
than 600 total staff members that create delicious cheesecakes and memorable
experiences.

Responsibilities
Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:
- Implement
systems to improve performance and ensure meeting or exceeding
regulatory compliance in all areas of (EHS&S) and manage compliance
through an in-depth auditing process developing corrective actions to
address findings.
- Ensure that
industrial hygiene, medical, personnel safety, process safety and
emergency response needs are adequately addressed and enter data into
applicable databases as needed.
- Develop and
administer effective occupational health, safety, ergonomics and
industrial hygiene programs, including maintenance of related policy and
procedure manuals.
- Develop
programs, educate, motivate and train management and production
personnel in good housekeeping practices, safe work procedures to
prevent and control occupational injuries and illnesses, security risks,
Health and Safety systems, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), etc.
- Manage the
plant personal protective equipment, work clothing and safety equipment
programs according to company standards and operating budget.
- Administer the
respiratory protection program, including quantitative fit testing,
respirator distribution, cleaning and sanitizing and the audiometric
testing and hearing conservation programs.
- Assist
Corporate Risk Management in the administration of the workers'
compensation program, including effective medical case management,
reporting, record maintenance, follow-up and ensure accurate
Occupational Safety and Health Organization (OSHA) 200/300 logs at both
sites.
- Oversee and
support employee involvement efforts through employee safety involvement
teams.
- Maintain
legal, governmental and company environmental, health, medical and
safety-related records according to standards, including
confidentiality.
- Accompany
visiting inspectors, reports findings and leads remediation efforts.
- Lead the
Bakery’s hazard communication program, including maintaining up-to-date
MSDS, effective identification of all chemicals, chemical inventory and
related training and education programs.
- Oversee and
ensures that Job Safety Analyses (JSA's) and safe operating procedures
are in place for all tasks and oversee and monitor all post-accident
investigations.
- Investigate
security breaches within the Bakery to understand the source of the
breach, assess and contain the damage, and subsequently devise measures
that will help protect against such events in the future.
Qualifications
What we require:
- 5 + years of
experience in Environmental Health, Safety and Security in a
manufacturing environment with at least 3 of those years in a manager or
supervisor role.
- Experience in
leading environmental and industrial health programs, including
experience with environmental agencies and required reporting.
- Experience in
Security, Risk management or associated experience.
- Strong
knowledge of applicable federal, state and local health, industrial
hygiene and safety regulations.
- Detail
oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful professional with
practical experience and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Bilingual in
Spanish and English.
- Excellent
written and verbal communication stills.
- Demonstrated
strategic thinking with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in
Microsoft Office.
What we prefer:
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Environmental Health, Safety and Security or related field.
