ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for reporting all food safety, quality, and sanitation issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensures compliance to quality and food safety programs and procedures specified by the company and regulated by federal, state and local agencies
  • Insures all daily, weekly and monthly inspections are performed; corrective actions are implemented, communicated and documented
  • Responsible for the development and performance of the Quality Techs.
  • Provides regular feedback to team and conducts annual performance reviews.
  • On-boarding of new hires.
  • Maintains adequate staffing/coverage to support the needs of the business.
  • Ensures team provides a high level of accuracy, precision and timely communication to the organization.
  • Generates weekly production folders and assigns paste two weeks in advance.
  • Attends weekly production scheduling and scorecard meeting.
  • Facilitates disposition of materials with the Inventory team.
  • Scrap and Rework.
  • Expired materials.
  • Required documentation.
  • Responsible for final disposition of all products produced in their facility as agreed upon with the Operations Manager.
  • Manages Pest Control Service.
  • Reviews and signs weekly service reports.
  • Notifies PCO and Production Manager of any pest issues or concerns.
  • Attends quarterly review meeting.
  • Manages bulk sanitation chemical supplier.
  • Meets monthly with sales rep.
  • Reviews inventory and orders chemical as needed.
  • Notifies sales rep and Operations Manager of any concerns or performance issues.v
  • Manages compliance to Kosher program as directed by the Production Manager.
  • Supports commercialization of new products.
  • Generates recipe cards and supporting production documentation.
  • Specification adherence.
  • Line efficiency review.
  • Training.
  • Investigates and communicate findings related to product quality and Customer issues using CAPA process.
  • Reviews completed production paperwork for both accuracy and completeness.
  • Food safety inspections documented at required frequencies.
  • Product sampled at required frequencies.
  • Adherence to specification.
  • Correct lot numbers are recorded for raw and finished goods.
  • Overall documentation is accurate.
  • Laboratory equipment and supplies are maintained as needed.
  • Oversees the micro testing compliance program and insures proper documentation.
  • Reporting requirements.
  • Oversees Plant Training Program for Food Safety and Food Quality as specified by the Production Manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree or relative experience in laboratory management.

  • Demonstrated mathematical and reasoning skills.
  • Proficient in MS office.

  • Certified in HACCP
  • GFSI
  • Internal Auditor Training
  • Management & Supervision
