This new hire will work in Global Headquarters , located at 24 Schilling Rd in Hunt Valley, MD . The Contract Manufacturing Operations Manager will report to an Operations Lead-Contract manufacturing.

Position Overview


The Co-manufacturing Operations Manager role is responsible for managing projects of moderate complexity under the guidance of the Operations Lead - Co-Manufacturing. The role is also responsible for data analytics activities pertaining to co-manufacturing as well as process and procedures management, process improvement, and general co-manufacturing operations. This position acts as a liaison between co-manufacturers on key projects that enhance revenue and continuously improve food safety and quality. This role interacts regularly with vendors, and with internal departments including Operations, Supply Planning, Procurement, Marketing, R&D, and Quality, to ensure business objectives are met. Additionally, this role will work strategically to identify both insourcing and outsourcing opportunities across the network, identify and drive savings in the Contract Manufacturing space, and execute our Contract Manufacturing engagement strategy. Position reports to the Operations Lead – Contract Manufacturing.



Key Responsibilties


Project Management (Moderate complexity)


Manage multiple projects concurrently, creative problem solver, self-driven to identify opportunities to support the category.


Manage a cross-functional team to motivate and influence others to achieve results without direct reporting relationships.


Resolve, recommend, and strategically influence conflicting interests and priorities from different functions.


Actively support approved innovation platforms and line extensions including insourcing, outsourcing, new platforms etc.


Manages projects that deliver $50MM of revenue to the company per year. (Will confirm number).
Data Management (Spend Data, scorecards, capacity, insights, repatriation (identification of the opportunity), moves to co-man). Gathering, analyzing, providing insights.


Ability to use tools and systems to compile, interpret data and generate conclusions/recommendations
Conduct evaluations of internal vs. external manufacturing capacity, capability, and economics as required, including capital requirements, labor requirements, and logistics requirements.
Processes and Procedures Management - Managing internal processes and procedures specific to co-manufacturing.


Cross functionally evaluate that processes and procedures are in place and being followed.


Working with functional areas on the development and updating of processes and procedures.
Acting as an auditor to identify gaps and action plans to close identified gaps.


Ownership of the procedure’s repository, functionality, and ensuring up-to-date procedures. (i.e. SharePoint).


Manage p rocess improvement and projects within Co-Man (Identification and implementation of process improvements)


Oversee the performance of supplier KPI’s and performance scorecards for the co-manufacturing category.


Create and maintain strong partnerships with co-manufacturers


Familiarity with manufacturing to be able to assess opportunities to improve operations leading to cost savings, improved quality/food safety, and service goals.


Possess a continuous improvement mindset both internally at McC and with our co-manufacturers. Utilizes Continuous Improvement methods and JTE tools to evaluate co-manufacturer performance. For example, but not all-inclusive:

Routine engagement with McC manufacturing, planning, procurement, and quality leadership. Work within these functions on an ad hoc basis as needed.


Build relationships cross-functionally and have effective communication skills creating a “team” focused environment while positively influencing stakeholders to positively support project initiatives and execution.


Gain a broad knowledge base in ingredients, quality, packaging, manufacturing, shipping, regulatory, etc.


Quality Certifications (HACCP, SQF, BRC, etc.)


Knowledge of Hot Fill, Cold Fill, Aseptic, Frozen, and blending


Rigid Plastics, pouches, corrugated, cartons, etc.


Gain an understanding of the Innovation stage-gate process, commercialization activities, and supply chain organization to efficiently execute projects related to co-manufacturing.


Required Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.


5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, or related field required.


​​​​​​​ Demonstrated abilities in SAP, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Ability to communicate and interpret complex data into insights and actions working and contributing in a team-based environment.


Cross-functional interaction with Quality, Procurement, engineering, finance, supply and demand planning, marketing, and sales.
