We have an exciting opening for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our team at our Michigan Hub Crop Protection facilities. In this role, you will be part of a robust team of approximately thirty Environmental, Health & Safety professionals. Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

  • Implement, maintain, and oversee Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs based on internal standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Manage the industrial hygiene database, including: similar exposure groups (SEGs), task-based exposure risk assessments, and site and facility specific information.
  • Actively track the implementation of new and revised IH programs.
  • Provide technical knowledge associated with the assessment and management of health hazards in the occupational environment.
  • Effectively communicate to site management and EHS groups through oral and written means.
  • Develop and recommend strategies and processes for efficient and cost-effective delivery of IH services.
  • Interface effectively with regulatory authorities when needed.
  • Participate on corporate subject matter expert teams.
  • Serve as an IH auditor for Corteva internal audits as needed.
  • Develop an annual IH monitoring plan for each facility.
  • Serve as the focal point for ergonomic related issues, regulated chemical programs, noise control and management program, site PPE program, respiratory protection program and thermal stress program.
  • Coach teams and individuals on IH expectations associated with tasks and activities.
  • Serve as the site’s main contact to manage IH programs appropriately.
  • Ensure that the Industrial Hygiene aspects of the sites’ Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EHS performance goals.
  • Conduct walks of process areas and active jobs ensuring that IH standards and best practices are being followed through observation and interaction.
  • Complete assigned training, document reviews, and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements – Who You Are:

  • You have 2+ years of relevant work experience in Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
  • You love variety of tasks as well as enjoy working hard and staying busy!

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other Science-related technology.

  • You value the safety of yourself and your co-workers and will eagerly participate in safe work practices, on-the-job safety, and work safety programs.
  • You always are willing to help out and physical work isn’t a problem for you…Passing by a team member struggling to lift something? You are willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • You are comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office programs.
  • You have experience with health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • You are willing and able to wear respirators and other required PPE, and follow all safety protocols.
  • You bring fresh eyes to our business and value from your experience.

Preferences:

  • You have a Master’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field.
  • Academic or continuing education coursework specifically addressing Industrial Hygiene Fundamentals, Toxicology, and Measurements & Controls.
  • CIH or OHST certification (or eligibility and interest to become certified within 1 year).
  • 5+ years of industrial hygiene experience.
  • Chemical industry experience.
