RF Biocidics Inc. is a
fast-growing company providing an environmentally friendly, chemical-free
alternative for disinfection and disinfestation of food and other
products. We are looking for an energetic and bright Scientist level
candidate who has worked in the food and agricultural processing industry
as a food scientist with 2+ years in microwave or radio frequency
processing experience.
The Scientist will work with team members to
propose, evaluate, test, and validate various engineering and processing
solutions that improve the quality, consistency, cost, and efficiency of
RF Biocidics’ disinfection and disinfestation
technology.
Essential duties of the
Scientist at this lab include:
- Review technical
information from companies, journals, and government agencies
relating to microwave and radio frequency process technology and
assess their relevance to RF Biocidics’
needs
- Become familiar with RF Biocidics’ technology, products, and business
direction
- Actively contribute to
problem solving and idea generation discussions with team members
- Design and conduct
experiments to evaluate proposed solutions on test systems
- Work with engineers to
implement solutions on production systems, including the design and
execution of validation tests
- Writes technical documents
to communicate and record various work outputs, such as experimental
designs, experimental results, instructions, procedures,
assessments, and forms
- Follows policies,
procedures, and practices associated with laboratory activities
including safety, testing, scheduling and documentation. Adheres to
safety rules and awareness, demonstrates good safety practices at
all times, and takes initiative to report and correct safety
hazards.
- Demonstrates superb problem
solving skills to support the investigation and incorporation of
process and engineering improvements
- Maintains utmost level of
confidentiality at all times
- Works under minimal
supervision and is expected to independently carry-out non-routine
assignments
- Embraces a "team"
working environment focused on achieving team and project goals by
demonstrating willingness to accept assignments not specifically
listed in the job description as allowed by the limitations of
training, experience, and/or education. Works in collaboration with
team members to evaluate and recommend improvements to analytical
methods, measurement methodologies associated with process
evaluation and control
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 5+ years of solid
experience in the food industry, with significant experience in
radio frequency / microwave processing
- M.S. Degree in food science
related discipline with solid experience
- Have professional oral and
written communication skills
- Be able to multi-task
across multiple projects and responsibilities
- Have a strong work ethic
- Superb problem solving
abilities
