General Position Information:The Chemstar
Sanitation Technical Specialist (STS) is the “Face of Chemstar”
in the processing industry. This position is responsible for providing
Sanitation Services to include sanitation assessments and service visits
for food processing locations. The STS will assist plant QA team with
developing and maintaining door way entry sanitation control, proper
equipment cleaning, environmental cleaning, and chemical system
maintenance. The STS will utilize his/her knowledge and experience in food
safety and sanitation to administer Sanitation Field Training as assigned
and is also responsible for providing strong follow-up and continuing
service to all customers. The incumbent will need to learn all facets of
the job with the primary responsibility of retention for current customers
and addition of new accounts.
Primary Responsibilities: − Assist with
performing processing plant sanitation assessments to determine correct
chemical, equipment, and cleaning tools for new customer sanitation program
installs.− Monitor and assist the process plant QA department in
oversight of proper personal hygiene, cross contamination control, chemical
use training and terminal and in use cleaning procedures.− Ensure all
dispensing equipment is in working order and perform service as required on
dispensing units. − Perform and oversee the proper delivery of
sanitation training to plant employees and managers as required by
customers.− Monitor and assist with food safety and sanitation
training programs and on-the-job training of new employees with respect to
sanitation policies and procedures. Determine need for additional or
renewed training, considering changes in cleaning programs or equipment,
new health regulations or concerns, and repeat inspection deficiencies or
lack of ability to demonstrate required knowledge.− Analyze
customer’s sanitation survey data and provide periodic trend analysis
reports related to sanitation improvement in the plant.− Participate
in customer’s food safety staff meetings to review current sanitation
opportunities and brief on status of sanitation process improvement
projects that are currently underway.− Conduct joint surveys/visits
with customer’s QA Manager to develop and foster a partnership and ensure
consistency in delivery of sanitation service.− Prepare and brief
customers QA management team on Food Safety and Sanitation KPIs.
Education and Experience
Requirements: * ; A BS/BA degree in dairy, food or
agricultural science, engineering, chemistry, biology or related field. * ;
2 + years’ experience in quality assurance, sanitation, or operations
management roles in produce, beef, pork, poultry facility is desirable. * ; Excellent interpersonal skills; account acquisition
and support experience. * ; Competent with Excel,
PowerPoint and Word. * ; Effective written and
verbal communication abilities. * ; Mechanical
aptitude. * ; Work requires travel and a valid,
clean driver’s license is required. * ;
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, periodic overnight travel, weekend
and evening work.
