Seeking Assistant Food Safety Manager
Sigona's Fruit for Thought, a
rapidly growing family owned business with over 40 years of local history
and expertise working with high quality fruit and produce, is looking to
fill the position of Asst. Food Safety Manager. This will be a key position
in our management team, and is critical to our continued rapid growth.
Under the direction of the Operations
& Food Safety Manager, the Assistant Food Safety Manager will be
responsible for implementing, monitoring and training associates per Sigona's FFT food safety program, including: SOP's,
SSOP's, GMP's and our HACCP Plan. Additionally, this position is responsible
for tracking and monitoring product quality and the tracking of raw and
finished goods to ensure the traceability of all finished goods and that
all company standards are maintained.
This is a full time, hands-on, non-exempt
position. Hours are approximately 5AM to 2PM, Monday thru Friday with
occasional week end work required.
Responsibilities and duties :
Accomplishes results by communicating,
monitoring, documenting and validating all food safety and quality related
policies and procedures
Responsible for all associates adherence to GMP's, SOP's, SSOP's and HACCP
programs relating to FSMA's Food Safety requirements
Responsible for constant research and personal development to stay current
with food safety protocols and 3rd party audit requirements
Monitors paperwork & fulfillment of the sanitation program
Monitors incoming dried and fresh fruit for quality, verifies and documents
correct daily raw material and finished good lot numbers for all items used
and processed, monitors expiration dates of dairy products
Manages accurate completion and collection of required daily food safety,
(HACCP) documentation
Must be willing to work variable hours as requested by the Operations &
Food Safety ManagerQualifications and Desired
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of QA experience
managing a food safety program preferably in a perishable food
manufacturing environment with heavy employee management
Strong working knowledge of food safety programs including HACCP
certification
Proven track record of continuous improvement successes and efficiencies
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing,
bilingual a plus
Able to multi-task and be a team player, willing to do whatever is
necessary to get the job done
Able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and willing to work in both cold and warm
work environments
