Food Safety and Quality Specialist - Neenah, WI, US Job
Summary: The Food Safety and Quality Specialist is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and
compliance of food packaging safety and quality programs at Inlands Neenah,
WI manufacturing site. This individual will work extensively with
cross-functional teams to implement various food packaging, safety and
quality programs. The Food Safety and Quality Specialist is
further responsible for ensuring overall company compliance with corporate
policies & regulatory requirements. This position will maintain
appropriate documentation, reports and adequate, timely testing of internal
and external controls through conducting self-assessments and audits.
Additionally, this individual will work independently to ensure ongoing
compliance to implemented programs and will serve as the primary contact for
food safety, compliance and quality decisions. Essential

and drives implementation of food packaging safety and quality policies and
procedures Participates
in facility-level training for the food packaging safety and quality system Executes
on requirements defined by food packaging safety and quality procedures and
documents the results Facilitates
internal food safety and quality system audits to ensure compliance to
established policies and procedures Reviews
applicability and suitability of the HACCP program for new products Participates
in customer and 3rd party audits including audit preparation and action item
follow-up Contributes
to food safety and quality system improvements and corrective actions based
on internal and external audit results Facilitates
all audits initiated by external regulatory agencies. Maintains
and revises food packaging safety and quality procedures; prepare and conduct
training to revisions as required Manages
record retention requirements Manages
nonconforming raw material and participates in supplier approval and
assessment reviews Assists
with customer complaint investigation and manages nonconforming in-process
and finished product Reports
food packaging safety and quality incidents, key indicator performance
metrics, and internal/external audit results promptly to the Quality
Assurance Manager Ensures
compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or
agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc. Monitors
and evaluates operations, programs, processes and/or practices for quality
and effectiveness; makes recommendations for improvement Gathers,
identifies, and/or stores samples of materials to be tested on site or
forwarded to laboratory for testing Leads
Neenah site compliance programs for internal and external reporting
activities. Maintains
detailed inspection or investigation records, prepares reports, and attends
to other related administrative requirements Monitors
consistency of compliance in all areas and provides feedback and training to
management and production staff Essential
skills and experience: Bachelors
degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or a related field Current/valid
SQF Practitioner and HACCP certifications are required A
minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge
and experience with Quality Management Systems Strong
familiarity with auditing methods and processes Strong
interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Strong
problem solving skills including proactive root cause identification and
resolution Experience
in tracking, analyzing, and reporting quality data Ability
to lead cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects on time and
within budget Ability
to compose and produce reports, documents and related materials High
sense of urgency and ability to work self-directed and independently in a
fast-paced environment Strong
proficiency working with Microsoft Office tools Attention
to detail and accuracy Nonessential
skills and experience: Advanced
degree in Engineering, Science or Business or related field. ASQ
CQE/CQA certification desirable Six
Sigma Green Belt certification Knowledge
of the print and packaging industry Work
Environment: Operates in a demanding, fast-paced,
people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and
interruptions, and multiple project assignments. Works with a variety of people including
vendors, customers, employees, managers, and executives. Required
Work Schedule: Typically works standard business days and
hours. Must be flexible to attend
meetings, functions and to be available during off hours, weekends, and
holidays to meet organizational initiatives.
Some travel and overnight trips are required. Physical Requirements: Walk, sit, bend, stoop, push, pull and
