Food Safety Analyst – Arlington, VA
Lidl
The QA Analyst will be responsible for assisting day to day Lidl
analytics tasks within the Quality Assurance department. The primary
responsibilities include: scheduling sample shipments, reviewing and
evaluating third party laboratory reports, and organizing laboratory test
procedures. Apply knowledge of food science, food chemistry, food
microbiology, and chemistry in meeting business needs.

other internal departments to ensure continuous quality improvement and the
success of the Analytics Program.
The Role
- Provide support to Lidl analytics team on a daily
basis
- Work closely
with Purchasing department and suppliers to obtain and review new
product specifications
- Manage the
Lidl laboratory report database
- Assist Lidl
analytics team on scheduling sample shipment and test planning
- Collect
laboratory reports from third party labs
- Review and
evaluate Lidl laboratory reports
- Performing
additional Quality Assurance tasks as required
Your Profile
- Bachelor degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food
Microbiology, Chemistry, or Microbiology and/or a minimum of two years
of prior professional work experience in commercial laboratory
- Commercially
aware of the value of Quality
- Possess
excellent knowledge of food testing, nutrition, food chemistry or food
microbiology
- Detail orientated
and excellent data management and process skills
- Self-directed
with excellent project and time management skills and an ability to
organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with careful
attention to details
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Ability to
work independently and as part of a team
- Professional
demeanor, approach, and appearance
- In addition
to the listed responsibilities, other duties may be require
whenever it becomes necessary to maintain operational functioning of the
business
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s
degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food Microbiology, Chemistry, or
Microbiology and/or a minimum of two years of prior professional work
experience in commercial laboratory
- Knowledge of
federal and state food safety regulations
- Knowledge of
quality assurance food safety programs and procedures
- Experience
working on multi-national teams
- Self-starter
