The 2nd Shift Plant Food Safety Supervisor assures that all products being produced are within customer specifications for process parameters and finished product. This role also verifies that food safety programs are being properly executed and that any deviations have proper corrective actions. Also responsible for ensuring food-safe, high quality products are produced that meet or exceed all regulatory and legal requirements. This position will be located at our Gadsden, AL Division (Birmingham metropolitan area) and additional responsibilities include and are not limited to:

 

         Manages food safety and quality programs to meet Keystone, customer and government requirements.

         Assures products meet customer specifications.

         Assure non-conforming product is properly controlled and dispositioned.

         Responsible for assisting management in providing a safe and healthy work environment, free of all recognizable hazards. Must understand and comply with Keystone's Food safety performance audit, such as providing safety training to employees conducting safety inspections, following up on work orders, and documenting necessary requirements.

         Performs food safety audits and support improvement efforts.

         Provides supervision for all hourly Quality Assurance employees.

         Prepares quality and food safety reports.

         Effectively communicates through active listening, acting on input; sharing information in an open, timely manner and encouraging others to do the same. Maintains appropriate confidentiality.

 

Ideal candidates will have

 

         3 years experience in the food industry.

         BA or BS; Major in Biology or related Science preferred

         Minimum 3 years of QA experience

         Good oral and written communication skills

         Prior experience with SPC

         Strong HACCP experience

         Troubleshooting

         USDA Regulations

         Minimal travel requirements for training purposes.
