Performs
inspections, investigations and/or surveillance of establishments that
manufacture, process, hold or transport food products intended for public
consumption. Ensures compliance with the various licensing
requirements for facility design, processing, sanitation, and product
labeling. Assists with food product recalls and trace backs, food borne
illness investigations and emergency response functions. Recommends and may
apply enforcement action. May provide expert-witness testimony.
NOTE:
This position
works out of their home and must be able to travel. A valid driver’s
license is required.
As a
condition of employment, this position is covered under a collective
bargaining agreement. Employees are required to pay regular union dues or
non-association fees (due to religious tenets) within 30 calendar days
following employment.

OF EMPLOYMENT
This position may require
moving objects and material weighing as much as 50 pounds.
Applicant must be capable
of performing the essential duties of the position with or without
accommodation.
Must be able to work in
inclement weather conditions and work in an industrial or animal setting,
negotiate wet or uneven surfaces, loud noises, and strong odors and
maintain safety awareness/precautions.
Must be able to work a
flexible schedule with the possibility of extended hours.
Must be able to travel with
occasional overnight stays.
