Technol/Scientists, Research & Development
Requirements: BS Food Science ~ EXPERTISE in cookies and/or laminated
dough. Product development, production technology, quality control
packaging, processing and utilization of foods.
Duties: Will apply scientific principles in research, product
development, production technology, quality control packaging, processing
and utilization of foods. Plan, research, organize, and implement project
work. Interact and communicate with team members from various functions
i.e., Purchasing, Marketing, Regulatory, Engineering, etc. Solve technical
hurdles and issues as they relate to product and processes. Communicate
project status and findings to R&D management and Channel Manager.
*Conduct basic research and new product development of food products in a
timely fashion. *Prepares formulation for new and altered products. *Make
recommendations on formulas, raw materials and production processes.
*Utilizes and maintains proper new product development reporting methods,
paperwork and follow-up. *Handles all paperwork to ensure the success of a
new product including initial product specifications and make up
procedures. *Maintains all developmental records in an orderly
comprehensive manner. *Interface well with the production facility while
conducting product trials and product issues. *Interact with purchasing for
costing new, alternative and/or replacement ingredients. *Assist
procurement in finding alternatives to discontinued or unavailable
ingredients, resolve issues with ingredient functionality problems.
*Responsible for developing accurate formal specifications, process routings
(routes and structures) and raw material, in-process and finished product
specifications. *Ensures products are legal and safe through proper
formulation, shelf-life testing and working with the Regulatory Department.
