Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supporting
Merrick Natural Petworks with the primary focus
of ensuring that our products meet our strict quality standards throughout
the entire supply chain. It is important to be able to deliver a continuous
improvement approach through training and education for all team members
regarding food safety and quality. This is a leadership role that will
support the entire department and report directly to the Food Safety
Manager.
This person
will assist in the leadership of enhancing and maintaining the following
programs: (other items may be assigned)
- SQF Third Party Food Safety
and Quality Certification
- Certified Organic Program
- Product Specification Program
- Supplier Approval Program
- Food Quality Plan
(SOP's/SSOP's)
- Internal Auditing Program
- Customer Care Support
- Sanitation Program
- Good Manufacturing Practices
(GMPs)
- HACCP
- Product Recall Program
- Personnel Training
This
position also includes providing complete support of the following
responsibilities:
- Production Process and
Document Reviews
- Enhance KPI program for
ongoing quality measurement and reviews
- Review technical problems and
procedures of departments and recommend solutions
- Works with supplier
representatives to obtain information related to supply quality
standards
- Cooperates with other top
management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies,
operating procedures, and goals
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's
degree in a related field preferred, may substitute previous work
experience. 3-5 years experience in management
handling; hire, termination, discipline, training/development, and employee
relations.
Desired Qualifications (not required):
Previous
experience in food manufacturing
Previous
HACCP certification program design and/or implementation
Bilingual
(English Spanish)
Mathematical
concepts
Computer Skills:
To
perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Powerpoint
presentation software.
