Location: Plano, TX,
THIS POSITION IS POSTED AS A
LEVEL 8 BUT MAYBE A LEVEL 6, 7, OR 8 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE.
This position will provide food science, physicochemical methodology and
quality assurance support for various company programs, projects and
initiatives. This role primarily will interact with Product Development,
Purchasing and Frito-Lay's ingredient supplier base, domestically and
Key responsibilities will be approving Ingredient specifications,
maintaining accuracy in Frito-Lay's Ingredient Specification data base,
working with developers to create advantaged specifications in a timely and
accurately verified manner, and maintaining supplier relationships.
Other activities may include maintaining the Raw Material Data Base for
Ingredient Quality Performance, developing suppliers in disciplines of
analytical testing, methods collaboration, statistical process control and
trouble-shooting to ensure quality performance and food safety. This
position will also oversee maintaining and improving GLP's within the
Analytical Lab and participate in other activities including: assisting
with development of HACCP plans; employee education; troubleshooting;
technical consultation; and vendor and laboratory auditing.
Some weekend work and travel will be required.

Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
MS in Food Science or related science field
Working knowledge of physicochemical food attributes and professional
organizational methodologies. Experience in specification development, Quality
Assurance, or Product Development; and, knowledge of GLP's and GMP's.
Basic computer and statistical skills
Excellent communication skills
Knowledgeable in laboratory safety
5+ years experience of applied food science in the food industry.
Experience at the corporate level, with Quality Assurance; supplier and
employee technical development; bilingual (Spanish)
