Report directly to Safety/Food Safety Manager. Accountable for the
occupational health, safety and food safety for Retail operations.
Accountable for conducting safety/food safety and sanitation training,
conduct associate and customer accident and incident investigations,
safety/food safety inspections/audits, develop and implement training
programs. Accountable for FDA traceability program implementation for
in-store made products. Review and follow-up on all agency related
safety/food safety inspections. Attend safety committee meetings, store
director district meetings and department manager meetings.
A 4 year degree in
Occupational Health and Safety or Food Safety/Sanitation with 2+
years experience or equivalent on-the-job experience in retail or
food processing operations. Must have a good working knowledge of
OSHA/MIOSHA, MDA, FDA, USDA regulations. Knowledge of product
recall procedures and the FDA Traceability Regulation of prepared
foods and ingredients. Experienced in safety/food safety training
program development and implementation, good working knowledge of
powered industrial equipment (i.e., hilo,
etc.) and training. Must be able to communicate well with
management as well as all associates and customers on health and
safety/food safety matters. Good communication skills and
computer skills required. Must be able to travel including
overnight travel. Must be available to be on-call for emergencies
nights and weekends.
