About 3M Food Safety Department:
The 3M Food Safety Department designs, manufactures and markets a full-line of testing products that assist food producers and manufacturers (globally) in providing healthy, wholesome and safe food.  The 3M Food Safety Department is an exciting growth business, with an excellent brand and quality reputation. 

 

This St. Paul, MN based position of Technical Services Specialist (Latin America), is an exciting leadership role for the growing Food Safety Business. 

 

We seek an experienced and motivated individual to:

  • Conduct technical training and education programs
  • Work with industry, regulatory and academic leaders in Food Safety
  • Support Latin America business and strategic plans
  • Speak/Author technical presentations
  • Coach/indirectly supervise country Professional Services/Technical Services staff
  • Coordinate/oversee supporting technical studies
  • Identify ideas/solutions for both global and localized products
  • Provide expert-level technical solutions for Food Safety products and applications

Strong leadership and influencing skills are needed to interact with customers in the Food Industry as well as Government Agencies.  Relationships/networks both within 3M and the Food Industry are critical to this role.  The ability to solve problems and effectively communicate solutions is essential.

 

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science or Biochemistry
  • Minimum of 5 years combined experience in Laboratory and / or Food Industry experience
  • Fluent in Spanish and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Microbiology/Biology, Food/Agriculture Science
  • 5-10 years Laboratory and/or Food Industry experience
  • Experience teaching/conveying technical concepts and procedures
  • Ability to travel in Latin America Region up to 50%
  • Understanding of Food Processing Manufacturing is preferred
