Job Description
Summary:
Plans,
directs, and implements organization quality control program to ensure
continuous production of products consisted with established standards and
plans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe,
healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following
duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains plans and leads AIB
program.
- Formulates and maintains
quality control objectives complementary to Company policies and goals.
- Provides inspection activity
for product throughout production cycle.
- Records test data, applying
statistical quality control procedures
- Monitoring allergen labels and
assuring that allergens are labeled and segregated in warehouse.
- Develops new and improved
formulas.
- Develops the nutritional
labels.
- Test recipes to assure quality
of ingredients.
- Maintains the Material Safety
Data Sheet.
- Maintains the Lockout/Tag out
program.
- Investigates and adjusts
customer complaints regarding quality.
- Plans ,implements safety
policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and
regulations.
- Establishes procedures for
detection and elimination of physical and chemical hazards and avoidance
of potential toxic effects and other product hazards.
- Prepares written report of
findings and recommendations for correction of unsafe or unsanitary
conditions.
- Plans and implements programs
to train managers and employees in quality control requirements and in
work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling
techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials, to
ensure compliance with regulations.
- Inspects organization
facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards,
determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and
follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Provides information, signs,
posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual
safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Oversees the administration of
workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance
carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Inspects machines and equipment
for accident prevention devices.
- Evaluates and handles safety
equipment requirements.
- Observes workers and evaluates
job activities to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as
safety belt, glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, clothing,
harnesses, and other equipment.
- Enforces use of safety
equipment.
- Inspects specified areas for
fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
- Prepares report of findings
with recommendations for corrective action.
- Tests noise levels and measures
air quality.
- Coordinates forklift training
to qualify for licensing.
- Maintains safety files and
records.
- Oversees field activities and
monitors for health and safety violations.
- Monitors decontamination of
personnel leaving hazardous work zones
- Issues and monitors hot work
permits, and lockout/tag out permits
- Develops and monitors emergency
action plans.

Qualifications:
To
perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food
Science or equivalent education in Food Technology and/or three to five
or more years of food safety experience.
- Product Development experience
and capability is a plus.
- Training in sanitation and food
safety.
- Training in identification and
monitoring of allergens
- This is a hands on position.
Language

documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,
