Global QA and Food Safety Specialist (Job Number: 002I89) Dallas, TX
Manages and coordinates assigned quality assurance and food safety projects in support of Brinker Global Business Development (GBD). Teams effectively with Global Supply Chain Management, Global Culinary, Global Franchise Partners and QA Technical Services to ensure domestic and international based suppliers and distribution partners as well as international restaurant operations meet Quality Assurance and Food Safety standards. Uses knowledge base from food science, culinary and restaurant operations to creatively problem solve as needed to help drive continuous Food Safety and Quality improvement across Brinker GBD. Coordinates and collaborates with multiple departments to develop and conduct product and program testing with new and existing vendors, and works closely with vendor partners to develop, revise and improve product specifications, processes and programs appropriate for GBD and Brinker Quality Assurance and Food Safety Standards.
Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions
In collaboration with Global Culinary and Supply Chain Management, coordinate international product development projects including product cuttings, shelf life studies and other special process reviews.
Develop and manage approved products list for GBD including development of product knowledge guides, and special process reviews for global products.
Ensure domestic based suppliers, exporters, consolidators and freight forwarders for GBD meet QA and Food Safety requirements.
Develop and maintain database/document repository for all Global QA needs including country specific quality and food safety requirements, product specifications, restaurant food safety documents and third-party audit data.
Manage third-party Global restaurant food safety assessment program including vendor management, results reporting and trending, annual program standards review, Global web document updates and control.
Act as subject matter expert and collaborate with Global Area Directors, Culinary, Training and Franchise Partners on all global safe food handling procedures, food safety training, sanitation chemical approvals and other projects as assigned.

At least 5 years combined Quality Assurance/Food Safety/Restaurant Operations experience required.
4 year college degree or equivalent in Food Science, Biology or other hard science equivalent. Culinary Arts or Public Health degrees also considered.
Certified Food Safety Professional (CPFS) preferred but not required.
Ability to successfully manage product development projects with knowledge of food safety, quality product attributes, along with ability to assess product performance in the restaurant.
Knowledge of restaurant food safety and sanitary operations, HACCP, foodborne illness risk factors, good retail practices.
Knowledge of food manufacturing, processes and packaging.
Software Aptitude: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel
Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to make clear, concise and convincing business presentations, and provide both written and verbal reporting of projects. Bilingual, is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and complete projects on time with minimal supervision.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work as part of a diverse team. Ability to build cooperative, productive relationships with internal clients and vendors.
