This role is responsible for the corporate Quality Management System ensuring continuous improvement in Food Safety and Quality requirements per GFSI guidelines and all applicable regulatory requirements. The FS &Q Manager will collaborate with plant leadership and respective QA personnel for the development, implementation, verification and validation and continual improvement of the Food Safety systems, HACCP program and Food Defense Plan, utilizing the guidelines of GFSI and SQF Certification and the FDA. This role will directly oversee quality for blending and all plant operations and have three dotted line reports. The Manager, Corporate Food Safety & Quality will be a passionate advocate for company products ensuring our customers can always enjoy our products with full confidence and satisfaction.

·         Serve as the Food Safety Management System Leader and is the primary Quality resource for the plant locations and key driver of local and federal food safety standards.

·         Leads HACCP, SQF, Organic certification and regulatory compliance.

·         Implements necessary internal quality assurance systems and infrastructure to support company growth.

·         Leads the weekly Corporate Quality Assurance Department Meetings.

·         Manages Continuous Improvement of techniques for the control of quality, reliability and food safety.

·         Oversees all monitoring and audit reporting functions in the manufacturing operation

·         Leads and coordinates the investigation of quality concerns with suppliers and recommends corrective measures.

·         Maintains corporate quality database of documents and data to ensure that accurate quality information is available to the company in a timely manner.

·         Manages Quality and Food Safety document control

·         Provides leadership in maintaining effective communication between the Quality Assurance and Production Departments.

·         Collaborates with colleagues in Supply Chain, Purchasing and Materials & Suppliers Quality functions to continually improve our capacity and capability to ensure product meets specifications, process control yields, scrap reduction and commercialization efficiency with out compromising food safety.

·         Performs other duties as assigned or needed.


·         7 to 10 years of successful experience leading HACCP and Food Safety programs in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.

·         BS degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or applicable discipline

·         Microbiology Laboratory management experience.

·         Knowledge of high-speed food or beverage production line processes and all QA product and process inspection procedures.

·         Ability to effectively lead, train, motivate, coach and develop individuals and teams.

·         Thorough knowledge of Statistical Process Control, HACCP and Quality Audit and Good Manufacturing Practice programs and procedures.

·         Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence others.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully to formulate action plans and follow through to completion.

·         Proficiency in PC usage and in applicable software programs utilized to track, store and communicate critical data on Quality metrics.

·         Ability to travel 10 to 20% of work time.
