DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for collaboratively developing, communicating and implementing programs that mitigate food safety risks across the TCCC system; this includes insuring that customer requirements and legislative changes are appropriately reflected in these programs to strengthen compliance across all geographies.  The role is critical to raising the profile of food safety across the system and ensuring food safety is truly embedded in the culture of the organization.

Technical requirements:

HACCP or equivalent food safety certification from a nationally / internationally recognized and accredited body. Knowledge of GFSI-approved food safety standards – such as ISO22000.

Food Safety Management System Implementation:  Ability to apply and implement management systems and provide guidance to others in developing and implementing food safety management systems.

Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, SAP

Function Specific Activities:
Review customer requirements and legislative changes and update strategy/direction, as appropriate.

Interpret potential impacts of new customer requirements and food safety legislation and on existing KO policies and requirements, through interface with other functions such as SRA and PAC.  

Identify update needs to existing policies & requirements

Drive effective implementation of food safety programs across manufacturing (including co-packers), warehousing & distribution.

Determine key areas of risk and prioritize improvement activities accordingly.

Ensure traceability mechanisms are robust, to meet business, customer & regulatory needs. Develop programs to build capability.

Develop and implement supplier management programs for food safety. Build supplier food safety landscape.

Improve and align supplier partnerships to close gaps. Report and track the effectiveness of food safety programs to internal and external stakeholders, using appropriate metrics.

Provide support to corporate IMCR process to implement food safety output recommendations.

Support programs to prepare for major events/ handle emerging food safety issues, to ensure TCCC food safety performance is not compromised.

Support integration of newly acquired operations to ensure TCCC food safety standards are met.

Partner with external food safety stakeholders (e.g., Regulatory Agencies, Consumer and Research Organizations, Trade Associations) to identify potential gaps, and develop and exchange industry best practices.

Provide food safety expertise for initiatives led or managed by other functional departments.

Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
