Will perform product development activities
including: operation of pilot plant equipment, weighing ingredients,
packaging, general administrative work and cleaning in a laboratory and or
manufacturing environment. Will assist with data tabulation, testing of
products, evaluation of ingredients and perform
other duties as assigned. May also supervise the manufacturing of new
products at 3rd party contract manufacturers.
- 4-year/bachelor's degree in Food Science or
- The ability to learn, work with and troubleshoot
as needed, a variety of food processing equipment in the pilot plant
- The ability to travel in support of off-site
manufacturing trials as needed.
Minimum of 2 years experience
with manufacturing and/or development of nutritional or similar types of
products, as well as:
- A firm knowledge of various food manufacturing
processes and concepts (retort processing, liquefaction, compounding,
evaporation, spray drying, dry blending), and food manufacturing principles
including microbiological control, food chemistry, food/ingredient
interactions and functionality.
