Lab and QA Manager - Neenah, WI

Position Responsibilities:

  • Communication:
    • Galloway Company Quality Policies
    • Safety Policies
    • Standard Operating Procedures(SOP’s)
    • Customer concerns
    • Project statuses/results
  • Manage Lab:
    • Determine appropriate staffing levels and provide required trainings
    • Maximize talents and productivity of lab operators
    • Create a culture/ environment promoting responsible action and accountability
    • Determine equipment/material needs and develop maintenance program
    • Coordination of bi-monthly lab Operator meetings
    • Maintain and develop lab Standard Operating Procedures
    • Manage lab documentation and records
  • Oversee environmental monitoring program
  • Develop metrics for Quality relative to lab and production operators
  • Manage customer COA and sample/data requirements:
    • Coordinate customer COA communication
    • Coordinate non-R&D customer sample shipments
    • Data collection for samples
  • Responsible for equipment calibration within the lab, Antibiotic testing and plant thermometers
  • Serve as the antibiotic industry supervisor:
    • Oversee antibiotic testing program (become Industry Supervisor)
    • Annual training and audit on FDA 2400 forms
    • Prepare and maintain antibiotic prep controls
  • Provide back-up support to the FS22 Team Leader
  • Active participant in audits (internal and external)
  • Lead WDA inspections
  • Pass Pasteurization, Better Processing, and HACCP training
  • Weekend Coverage – Flexibility in hours – some weekend/holiday work required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assure adherence to strict governmental requirements for Food Safety
  • Troubleshoot with all levels of the organization
  • Deal with multiple deadlines and tasks
  • Empower and develop plant operators
  • Hold peers and reports accountable
  • Optimize all plant floor activities (Lean)
  • New lab equipment design/startup/operation
  • Available days/nights/weekends for quality leadership/support/lab problem resolution

Helpful Experiences/Qualifications:

  • Food Science Degree and background
  • Quality Control experience
  • Food Manufacturing Plant experience
  • GFSI Experience
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Chemistry Interests
