Since our inception, we have been involved in public health
activities, utilizing our expertise in food chemistry, microbiology and
sanitation. Today, Certified
Laboratories offers the most extensive range of services available to the
refrigerated, seafood, meat, dairy, spice, frozen and prepared food
industries, for products produced both domestically and abroad. We
are seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Manager, who is detail oriented, to
join our team-oriented environment of professionals located in Plainview, New
York. The
Microbiology Laboratory Manager is responsible for many aspects of client
relations, including but not limited to managing the clients expectations
relating to the testing process; interacting with clients by providing test
results and recommendations; developing, measuring, and maintaining processes
to increase the accuracy of testing and testing turnaround time to the
client; proactively managing the Microbiology staff relating to hiring, training,
termination, and performance management issues; ensures implementation of the
QA/QC program with regard to all operations and documentation requirements;
and effectively coach and mentor the staff of the Microbiology Department to
facilitate their personal and professional growth. The
qualifications for this position include: Bachelor’s
Degree in Microbiology, MS degree in Microbiology or Food Science a plus Seven
(7) to ten (10) years industrial experience Five
(5) to seven (7) years experience in a managerial capacity Strong
quantitative skills, proven attention to detail with effective organizational
skills Proven
ability to develop, adapt and validate testing methods Proven
expertise in relevant techniques and instrumentation Proven
problem solving and trouble shooting skills Strong
communication skills, both verbally and in writing To
