Laboratory Sciences and Food Safety Manager for our premier food client in
the Kansas City area.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Laboratory Sciences and Food Safety Manager will be the driving force
in developing the vision, strategy, and priorities of R & D, Quality,
and Food Safety for a local Kansas City Laboratory. In addition, the
Manager will be a vital part of the Global Food Safety and Business
Strategy teams.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring the highest performance
levels are met in Microbiological and Analytical Quality and R & D including
the continuous improvement of systems and standards.
The Laboratory Sciences and Food Safety Manager will also be responsible
for internal/external laboratory audits, developing clean factory design,
providing HACCP direction for the entire business unit, and overseeing
leadership strategy to ensure relevant research capabilities to support the
R & D function and create a center for excellence in Analytical
Science.
Candidates for the Laboratory Sciences and Food Safety Manager must have

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Advanced Degree in a science related discipline is required-Biology, Food
Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry etc…
5+ years in an upper level management position within the food industry
encompassing Quality and R & D entities in Microbiology and Chemistry.
Must have experience directly managing an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory
within the food industry.
Solid understanding of scientific principles within food systems including
the chemical and physical characterization of those food systems.
Expertise is the use and troubleshooting of Analytical and Microbiological
instrumentation, techniques, processes, and procedures specific to the food
industry.
Strong experience in experimental design and statistical data analysis
including sampling plans and confidence intervals.
Demonstrated ability to write technical scientific reports and functional
knowledge of LIMS.
Industry experience working within a Global Strategic Team for the food
industry.
