Safety Department (Microbiology) The 3M Food Safety
Department designs, manufactures and markets a full line of testing an
monitoring products globally that assist food processors in providing
healthy, wholesome and safe food by managing their quality and safety
risk. The 3M Food Safety Department is an exciting growth business,
with an excellent brand and quality reputation. In 2006, Food Safety
acquired Biotrace International to expand its
market presence in this industry. The person hired
for the position of Senior Product Engineer will be located in Maplewood,
MN and will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific
duties: •Product
development and laboratory experimental work in support of New
Product and New Technology Programs. •Translation of
product development and Voice of Customer inputs into product specifications
and documentation. •Creation and
maintenance of test methods, product standards, drawings and other design
record documentation. •Cross-functional
collaboration, especially between laboratory, quality, and manufacturing
functions on a variety of programs related to Food Safety. •Interface with
outsource manufacturers as needed to develop and document robust
commercialization documentation. Relocation has been
authorized for this position. Qualifications
Basic/Minimum
Qualifications: ·
Minimum of 3 years experience
in a product development capacity ·
Minimum 1 year experience product development
documentation ·
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or
Science Preferred
Qualifications: •MS or PhD in
Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering,
Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry •5 or more years experience in a product development capacity. •Experience with 3M
product documentation and eMatrix. •Experience with
outsourced product manufacturing. •Experience with
both softgood and hardgood
product development. •Knowledge of Food
Safety related industry concerns. •Exceptional
