Food QA Manager – Long Island,
NY
Our client is seeking an
Food Industry Professional with strong management skills and extensive
technical expertise in food safety, food processing and HACCP regulations.
- Manage Food Safety -
Responsible for FDA compliance of plant and processing facility.
Ensuring seafood processing in accordance with all applicable regulations.
Optimization of seafood process, product quality and safety.
- Oversee site HACCP program; GMP
& SOP compliance. Ensure company is current with industry food
safety trends and programs. Recommend new policies and procedures as
necessary.
- Manage plant Sanitation
program.
- Assure plant compliance with
third party regulations including Silliker, AIB, SGS and BRC and all
third party audits/inspections.
- Approve process specifications
and plan processing schedules. Provide technical guidance on quality,
safety, and compliance at each stage of food processing and packaging.
Required skills:
- Minimum B.S. in Food Science or
related degree program
- Minimum of 3-5 years managerial
experience in a food processing plant. Technical competence in food
quality issues, contamination prevention, microbiology, shelf-life, etc.
- Knowledgeable in regulations
Food Q.A. & Food Safety BRC, SQF, ISO and industry standards.
Experience managing an aggressive sanitation program especially with an
emphasis on Listeria prevention.
- Outstanding multitasking,
organizational and communication skills. Ability to motivate and manage
a team.
