global leader in flavor, has a 3 month Sensory Science Internship available in our Technical Innovation Center (TIC) in
Hunt Valley, MD.This internship
will start in May or June 2012 and will run until August 2012.The position is full time Monday
through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Note that this is a paid internship,
but relocation and/or housing related expenses will not be covered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction
of the Sensory Science Manager, the intern will execute sensory related
activities including setting up and executing sensory studies as well as
data analysis and written reporting.Additional activities may include conducting research on new and
innovative sensory methodologies and the possible opportunity to
co-author research publications(s).This
intern will have exposure and cross training experiences in other
functional areas outside of sensory.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Student as of September
2012 in a graduate level program in Food Science, Sensory Science,
or Nutrition with an emphasis on Sensory Evaluation
Working knowledge of sensory
methodologies: discrimination, descriptive & consumer
evaluation

Grade point average of 3.0 or better
·
Successful completion of at least one sensory science related
course and/or
experience working in a sensory lab
·
Experience
analyzing data and writing follow up reports
Excellent oral and written
communication skills
Experience with Microsoft
applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Fluency with Compusense, XLStat
and SAS a plus
Ability to work well
independently and as a part of a team
