WARSAW -- Wyoming County
had a salmonella case tied to the national outbreak related to peanut butter
products, but health officials were not able to identify the source, the
county's medical director said this morning.
Dr. Greg Collins said the case occurred in October, before the national
outbreak developed. The state Health department was subsequently able to
identify the bacterial strain as the same one associated with the national
outbreak, he said.
The case was investigated, Collins said, but no source was found.
The person recovered, he said, and there have been no other problems or cases
in the county since then.
