Contract Food Scientist with Research and Development experience needed for Food Company in the Chicagoland area. Looking for a Food Scientist who has experience managing their own research projects, being creative and a self-directed problem solver. Excellent interpersonal communication, who has the ability to communicate to others and inquire input from co-workers. Strong research and development experience desired. The primary responsibility of the job is to learn and attain expertise in processing technologies such as agglomeration, fluidized bed drying/coating, spray drying and spinning disc coating. Position is a 6 month assignment with possibility of renewing for an additional 6 months. Travel may be required; therefore willingness to travel 10% is required. Schedule is first shift. BS or MS (Chemistry, Chem Eng., or Food Science) with at least 3-5 years of research and development experience in the food industry. Ability to manage multiple individual assignments/projects. Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management and people skills. Creative, organized, flexible and team-oriented.
