Quality Control/HACCP Specialist – Solon, OH

This position is responsible for the inspection of process control points, as well as monitoring the quality of product during manufacture and auditing; establishing a focus on prevention of quality failures utilizing coaching as a primary tool; providing proactive coaching, technical support and training for operational personnel, maintain quality systems to ensure a high degree of compliance with company and regulatory requirements; skill development of production personnel in general audit requirements, recipe procedures, GMP’s, bacteriological controls, NQS program, maintenance, sanitation/equipment inspection, TQC, QMS, SPC, MIR and HACCP; establishing, maintaining and promoting good communication/rapport with all departments and USDA; demonstrating a proactive approach to problem prevention; participating in the review and revision process to maintain control programs(NQS, TQC, MIR, HACCP, QMS, SPC); recommending rejection or retention of substandard raw materials, in-!
process components, packaging materials, equipment and finished product that exceeds acceptance criteria and coordination of corrective actions; documenting daily QA concerns; special projects or assignments.


•    Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field required
•    2-3 years Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
•    Strong interpersonal communication skills
•    Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve  problems
•    NQS training and systems implementation experience strongly preferred
•    PC proficiency in Windows based applications.
