Location: Minneapolis MN
The Product Inspection
Business Unit provides instrumentation, software, and support
services to a variety of industries including Food and Beverage,
Pharmaceutical and many others. We provide process analyzers and
measurement systems to help our customers improve their process, meet
government regulations and ensure the quality of their brands.
Job Summary: Perform research
(feasibility studies) and high level product development. The successful
candidate must be an experienced, customer-focused individual who is
motivated to be hands-on when needed, conscientious and results oriented
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
Lead efforts in support of
new Metal Detection inspection product development, and upgrades.
Ownership of products from development through manufacturing and service.
Perform high level product
development in areas including but not limited to electro-magnetic
devices for metal contamination inspect.
Prepare reports on
research and development for internal use and for the purpose of
obtaining patents to protect technology developed for the Company
Project Management of
Phase Gate Process for New Product Development
Interface with customers,
sales, and marketing to discuss new applications and technologies.
All other duties as
1. Minimum five (5) years experience in advanced instrumentation research
2. Strong written and oral
3. Experience in mathematical
modeling and/or simulation desired.
4. Experience in radio
frequency (RF) signal generation and analysis
5. Experience in the design
and development of Metal Detection inspection equipment preferred
6. Design for
Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA), Design
Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Risk Management preferred
preferred: process instrumentation and/or the food, beverage and
8. Project mangement experience preferred.
Other Job Requirements:
Chinese language skills
Ability to grow into
leadership role within 1 year
MS (or internationally
recognized equivalent) in Physics, Engineering, or closely related field
required, PHD preferred.
